CAIRO_ 26 June 2017: The Egyptian General Authority for Shores Protection implemented LE 17 million projects for protecting critical coastal areas in the governorates of Alexandria, Port Said and Kafr el Shiekh.

Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Aati received on Monday a blow-by-blow report on the authority's achievements during the current year in the fields of preserving and protecting the shores and serving the sustainable developmental strategy.

The report also said that the authority had held a number of studies concerning the protection of the Egyptian shores.

In the meantime, The authority's board chairman Ali Kamal said that the authority had examined license applications filed by 43 tourist resorts; 33 were approved, six postponed and four rejected.
