CAIRO - 7 July 2020: Finance Minister Mohamed Ma’it said Tuesday that the 2020-2021 budget is “flexible” enough to positively deal with consequences of coronavirus.

The government is ready to take all measures and make decisions needed to limit the negative impact of that pandemic on the Egyptian economy, Ma’it said in statements.

He touched upon financial allocations to help meet additional needs to face the deadly virus.

A reassessment will be made after the first quarter of the current fiscal year 2020-2021 in light of developments concerning the pandemic, Ma’eet noted.

Amendments, if any, will be made in full coordination with the House of Representatives, he said.
