CBE official: 4,291 clients benefit from initiative to support economic sectors

CAIRO - 5 July 2020: An official source with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said Sunday that about 69 billion pounds had been spent as part of an initiative to support the industry, agriculture and construction sectors in Egypt. 


As many as 4,291 clients have benefited from the initiative until the end of June, the source said in statements to MENA. 


On December 17, the CBE launched the initiative worth LE 100 billion with the aim to support the the industry, agriculture and construction sectors in the wake of the coronavirus crisis. 

This is only one of several CBE initiatives to support the Egyptian economy that exceed LE 700 billion, of which LE 360 billion have been allocated for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Another LE 100 billion have been set to support real estate developers.

LE 50 billion have been allotted to support the tourism sector.
