House okays new contributions to 2019/20 budget

CAIRO - 21 April 2020: The House of Representatives approved in principal a bill presented by the government to allocate supplemental funds to the 2019/20 budget.

House Speaker Ali Abdel Aal said the final vote will be held Wednesday during the plenary session.

The first article of the bill allocated an addition 10 billion for purchasing non-financial assets, while the second article earmarked another 10 billion for lending as part of efforts to increase the state's resources.

The new contributions aim at increasing rates of operations through paying dues of companies and contractors.
