USD stable Wednesday while Euro, GBP, Kuwaiti dinar down

CAIRO – 21 June 2017: The exchange rate of the U.S. dollar stabilized against the Egyptian pound in Wednesday morning’s banking transactions, while the euro and British pound (GBP) slumped.

Dollar exchange recorded an average buying rate of LE 18.045 and sold at LE 18.144 against the Egyptian pound.

The euro fell slightly to record an average of LE 22.12 for buying and LE 20.24 for selling, down from LE 20.23 for buying and LE 20.34 for selling on Tuesday.

On the same track, the GBP marked an average of LE 22.85 for buying and LE 22.98 for selling, compared to LE 23.09 for buyers and LE 23.22 for selling the day before, according to Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) rates.

Arab currencies remained stable against the Egyptian pound as the Saudi Riyal marked LE 4.81 for buying and LE 4.83 for selling, and the Emirati Dirham recorded LE 4.91 for selling and LE 4.94 for buying.

The Kuwaiti dinar declined to LE 59.37 for buying and LE 59.76 for selling, down from LE 59.42 for buying and LE 59.87 for selling in Tuesday transactions.
