CAIRO – 19 June 2017: The United Nations Social Impact Fund will cooperate with Egypt to establish an investment fund for social development projects, Minister of Investment Sahar Nasr said Monday.

The fund will support initiatives for projects, create job opportunities for youth and achieve development goals in Egypt, according to a statement from the Ministry of Investment.

Nasr discussed the establishment procedures of the new fund during a meeting with United Nations Social Impact Fund Chief David Galipeau to discuss the minister’s participation in the fund’s advisory board.

To boost the role of the private sector in the development process, Galipeau said the UN fund would provide consultancy services for start-ups with a social approach.

Nasr was chosen to be the first female member of the UN Social Impact Fund advisory board on May 30.
