CAIRO - 22 January 2020: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli stressed Egyptian government's support for DHL investments that aim at turning Egypt into an e-trade hub in the Middle East and Africa region.

The premier's remarks came during a meeting with CEO of DHL Express John Pearson Wednesday in the presence of the Minister of Communications Amr Talat, according to statement released by the cabinet on Wednesday.

The statement reported that the minister said he pleased with promotions about Egypt, which are being used by the company on its envelops inside and outside Egypt.

For his side, Pearson clarified that DHL company has been working in Egypt since 1980, noting that the Arab country is a vital place of action in Africa and the Middle East.

Talaat said that Egypt is keen on cooperating with DHL to ease electronic trade in Africa through new and innovative services that would help activate express shipping to and from the continent.

Communication ministry is working to turn Egypt into a regional hub of e-trade in Africa, Talaat added.
