CAIRO, Jan 13 (MENA) - Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait said on Monday that his ministry considers reducing the prices of energy, electricity and gas supplied to factories upon the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to develop and pay attention to this important sector.

During a hearing session held by parliament's industry committee under Frag Amer to discuss the paper industry problem, the minister said the file of energy costs to factories will be discussed by the political leadership in cooperation with the government.

He said the government does not want the coming generations to bear the burdens borne by the current generations.

The minister said the ministry will introduce amendments to the value added tax (VAT) and that a bill in this respect will be sent to parliament for consideration.

He pointed out that a committee will be tasked with checking containers at customs as part of a plan to develop the customs services.
