CAIRO - 22 December 2019: Minister of Public Enterprises Sector Hisham Tawfik on Sunday witnessed the signing of a contract to assemble 105 buses between the Engineering Automotive Manufacturing Company "EAMCO", a subsidiary of the Holding Company for Metal Industries and First Automotive Company for Automotive Manufacturing, the agent of China's Yu-Tong Group.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Ministry of Public Enterprises said the agreement was signed by EAMCO Acting Board Chairman Amin Yehia and First Automotive Deputy Chairman Khaled el Gioushi in the presence of Chairman of the Holding Company for Metal Industries Medhat Nafa'e.

Under the contract, Yu Tong company will take over the management and supervision of assembling as many as 105 buses on the production lines of EAMCO along with training and qualification of workers of the company to carry out the project.

The imported and local components of the buses as well as other accessories will be provided by First Automotive company.

The statement said that the project is meant to revive EAMCO's manufacturing activities and its production lines with the aim of renovating the buses industry in Egypt. (
