Cotton exports rise to 120.9% in 4th quarter of 2018-2019 agricultural season: CAPMAS

CAIRO, Dec 1 (MENA) - The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said Egyptian exports of cotton in the fourth quarter of the 2018-2019 agricultural season stood at 190,400 metric quintals, marking a 120.9 percent rise in comparison with the same period in the previous agricultural season.

CAPMAS said India is the largest importer of Egyptian cotton.

The agency said the total consumption rate of domestic cotton reached about 36,000 metric quintals during the fourth quarter of the agricultural season against 28,800 metric quintals in the corresponding period in the previous agricultural season.
