CAIRO - 18 March 2019: Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr hailed strong relations and cooperation between Egypt and Oman and their peoples.

The minister on Monday met with representatives of major Omani companies in Muscat to follow up the results of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s visit to Oman last year.

Nasr highlighted the major investment facilities and opportunities available in the Egyptian market represented in the huge national projects currently carried out.

She urged Omani companies to make use of such opportunities with further investments that would reflect the good and strong ties between the two countries.

She said only 88 Omani companies were operating in Egypt.

The representatives said they are keen on increasing investments in Egypt under the latest legislation reforms that have led to improving the climate of investment.

They stressed that Egypt is the main pillar of security and stability for Gulf and Arab countries.

The Ministry of Investment said in a statement that the meeting was part of preparation meetings of the Egyptian-Omani joint committee, which kicked off on Monday under the foreign ministers of the two Arab countries.

The committee will tackle means of boosting economic, trade and investment cooperation between Cairo and Muscat.
