CAIRO – 3 June 2017: A huge participation of Egyptian and German companies is expected at the joint Egyptian-German Investment Forum in Berlin, Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr said Saturday.

This came during a meeting between Nasr and head of the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce, Andreas Hergenröthe, on Saturday. The pair discussed preparations for the forum, which is expected to be held “soon.”

Last week, Nasr met German ambassador to Cairo Julius Georg Luy to discuss methods of pushing German investments forward in development projects, as part of a common investment portfolio of €360 million.

The ambassador said at that time Berlin wants to boost its investments in Egypt after the Parliament’s approval of the new investment law.

Germany aims to increase investments in the sectors of renewable energy, technical education, climate change, women and youth Luy said, adding that there are 1,039 German companies currently operating in Egypt.
