Egypt, Liberia discuss boosting economic relations

CAIRO - 19 December 2018: Vice President of the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce (FEDCOC) Ibrahim el Araby on Tuesday discussed with a Liberian delegation led by country's Ambassador in Cairo Edwin Faseyen Sele and President of the Liberian Chamber of Commerce Wendell Addy means of boosting economic relations and cooperation.

The two sides mulled also establishing new investment partnerships in various sectors.

Araby, who also acts as the chairman of Cairo Chamber of Commerce, said that Egypt offers investment opportunities in various projects, from which the Liberian businessmen are able to benefit given the intensives that Egypt is offering for the investors in various sectors.

Egypt adopts economic legislation and reforms to encourage investments and partnerships, a move that is encouraged by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi who attaches special importance to the economic file and boosting trade and investments cooperation with the African countries, Araby added.

For his part, the Liberian ambassador said that there should be great economic cooperation between Egypt and Liberia given their historical relations, therefore this meeting was held to review new ways of pushing forward trade, industrial and investment cooperation.

Sele voiced Liberia's readiness for economic and investment cooperation, hailing the reforms that Egypt carried out in various domains.
