CAIRO - 1 November 2018:Egypt, among other world countries, will attend China's first International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai on November 5-10.

Egypt was chosen as the guest of honor of the expo.

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli will lead Egypt's high-level delegation to the exhibition.

Upon an invitation from Chinese President Xi Jinping, presidents of Czech, Cuba, Kenya, Panama, Switzerland, Croatia and Salvador will attend the gathering.

The prime ministers of Hungary, Pakistan, Russia and Vietnam will also attend the expo.

The CIIE is the world's first import-themed national-level expo. More than 3,000 companies from over 130 countries have confirmed participation in the expo, with a total booth area of 270,000 square meters.

Being the second largest economy worldwide and home to 1.3 billion people, the expo will be a good chance for Egypt to expound its development efforts in different domains and economic reforms.

Prominent exhibitors at the Expo include big household names – Sony, Samsung, Foxconn, Intel, General Motors, BMW, Tesla, Facebook, and Google, as well as many smaller rising players.
