CAIRO - 1 November 2018: Communications and Information Technology Minister Amr Talat discussed with the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) ​​​​​​​​Houlin Zhao means of promoting cooperation between the Egyptian government and the union.

During a meeting held on the sidelines of the (ITU) Plenipotentiary Conference currently held in Dubai, the two sides probed preparations for Egypt's hosting the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC) slated for October 21 till November 22, 2019 in the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh.

The event is considered one of the biggest conferences tackling the communications and IT sector in the world, said a statement released by the Communications Ministry on Thursday.

Talat held meetings also with his Spanish, Ghanaian and Ugandan counterparts as they discussed boosting joint cooperation in electronic applications and IT domains, the statement read.
