House approves bill on public contracts

CAIRO - 25 July 2018: The House of Representatives approved on Wednesday a bill presented by the government to regulate public contracts.

Under the bill, a new two-phase tendering process will be used in cases when the integrated technical description of items, services and consulting studies is not possible.

The draft law also sets conditions, which allow the government to directly assign work to companies in urgent or emergency cases.
