EGX ends on mixed note in April transactions, benchmark slides 4.32%

CAIRO – 2 May 2017: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indexes showed mixed performance results during April’s transactions compared with the previous month’s rates.

The benchmark EGX30 index dropped 4.32 percent in April, closing at 12,434 points, the EGX outlined in its monthly report.

Meanwhile, the small and mid-cap enterprises index (EGX70) increased 2.42 percent, registering 583 points.

Also, the all-embracing EGX100 index was up 0.95 percent, totaling 1,340 points, the report added.

Meanwhile, market capitalization decreased 0.9 percent, closing at 649 billion EGP.

Market turnover recorded 21.7 billion EGP, compared to the 33.2 billion EGP in the same period a month earlier.
