CAIRO - 8 March 2018: Tourism Minister Rania el Mashat said the tourism sector in Egypt is on the way to regain its boom.

The foreign tour operators asserted their optimism of the return of tourism in Egypt, a statement released by the Tourism Ministry quoted the minister as saying on Thursday.

There are positive indicators towards tourism recovery, foremost among which is the increase of reservations in the country during the next season, she noted.

Mashat underscored that she discussed with the tour operators, whom she met in Berlin, the problems facing them in Egypt, asserting to them that Egypt is committed to all agreements inked with foreign partners during 2015-2017, the statement read.

She probed with them the importance of promoting cultural tourism and traveling to Luxor and Aswan amid the international attention paid to new archaeological discoveries in Egypt.

The minister met with tour operators of Anex Tour, LMX Touristik, Der Touristic, ETI, FTI and TUI.
