CAIRO – 5 March 2018: Finance Minister Amr el-Garhy announced Monday that Prime Minister Sherif Ismail accepted the resignation of Deputy Minister of Finance for Tax Policy Amr el-Mounir.

Deputy Minister of Finance for Tax policy Mounir submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Ismail on Monday.

Mounir expressed his readiness to provide his assistance and consultation whenever Egypt needs him.

He wished Egypt success in moving towards an advanced economy that will enable the country to compete regionally and internationally.

Mounir officiated in March 2016, and succeeded during his tenure in developing a modern tax policy which enabled Egypt to achieve the largest tax revenues in its history.

He also added a clear vision of tax philosophy which was able to support the business community and achieve social justice.

Mounir focused on the dissemination of tax culture within Egyptian society and adopted a number of policies that succeeded in solving many of the accumulated conflicts that lasted for many years.
