CAIRO – 8 February 2018: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi ordered a price adjustment of greenhouse products in order to be affordable for all citizens, during his speech at the inauguration ceremony of the first phase of the greenhouse project in the Matrouh governorarte.

“Greenhouses products will be offered through the Ministry of Supply‘s ports and movable ports to control the prices,” one of the officials of the greenhouses project said.

President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi arrived on Thursday at Mohamed Naguib military base in el-Hamam area at Alexandria’s north coast to inaugurate the first phase of the greenhouses project on an area of 100,000 feddans.

During the inauguration ceremony, Sisi stated that these greenhouse projects are not “luxurious,” but important projects that should be taken seriously by the government and citizens.

The project aims at developing the economy by increasing the production of planted crops and the exploited area across the nation. Greenhouses consume about 70 percent less water than the current production process in traditional agriculture areas, it also produces high quality agricultural crops out of season.

The greenhouse’s structure made of transparent walls and roof, is beneficial for the growth of crops as the greenhouse provides regulated climate conditions.
