CAIRO - 19 December 2017: Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr inaugurated Tuesday the Egypt–Japanese Business and Investment Forum in Tokyo, a statement from the ministry reported.

During the forum, which was attended by the Egypt–Japan Business Council and 150 Japanese investors, Nasr called on attendees to support the ministry's entrepreneurship initiative “Fekretak Sherketak”.

In a meeting with governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Akira Kondoh, Nasr discussed activating the joint economic partnership agreement between both parties and increasing the finance of the bank to Japanese companies investing in Egypt.

Nasr also delved into benefiting from the Japanese experience in building free zones.
On her first day of the visit to Tokyo, Nasr signed on Monday a 993 million yen ($8.8 million) grant with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to supply education and research devices for the Egypt–Japan University of Science and Technology (E-JUST).

The project targets supporting the educational content and performance for the Faculty of Engineering students through supplying needed devices.

During the visit, Nasr also met with a delegation from 20 companies, including Sumitomo Corporation, Toyota and Hitachi to discuss increasing their investments in Egypt.
