CAIRO – 9 November 2017: Egyptians will be able to revise and amend the country’s sustainable development strategy “Egypt Vision 2030” through a technology application that will be launched in December, Minister of Planning Hala el-Saeed said Thursday.

Saeed said that any amendments to the strategy will be taken into consideration as per President Abdel-Fatah al-Sisi’s directions, adding that Egypt vision 2030 is a participatory strategy in which citizens, private sector, NGOs and the government took part.

The new tech app is one of several services projects that will be launched soon. By the end of December, the government will complete the automation process of all services in the local administration units of the three Suez Canal governorates of Suez, Port Said and Ismailiya.

Saeed said that the automation processes, along with the civil service law and training, are the pillars for administrative reform. A National academy for training youth will be launched in January, she added.

Also by the end of January, the government will launch its own electronic portal, which will offer government services to citizens electronically. This comes as part of efforts to automate government services to reduce dependence on the human factor and eliminate corruption and nepotism.

The Egyptian government has been recently exerting efforts to reform the country’s administrative sector and train the youth and government employees through several programs.

A large number of the Presidential Leadership Program graduates are currently assistants to ministers, Saeed said this week on the sidelines of the World Youth Forum, currently held in Sharm El-Sheikh.

She said that the most important objective of the program is to broaden the base of youth's participation and raise the level of political, economic and administrative awareness.
