EGX closes in red, market capital dips LE 2.9B

CAIRO – 1 November 2017: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday in red as all indices fell at the end of the trading session.

Benchmark EGX30 shrank 0.45 percent to stand at 14,277 points. The small and mid-cap index EGX70 is almost flat as it went down 0.04 percent to end at 781.38 points, while broader index EGX100 also leveled down 0.20 percent to close at 1,764.67 points.

Market capitalization lost LE 2.69 billion Wednesday to record LE 782.219 billion, compared to LE 784.9 billion in the latest session Tuesday.

Arab individuals and institutions as well as foreign organizations were net sellers at LE 16 million, LE 15 million and LE 61.4 million respectively.

Meanwhile, Egyptian individuals and institutions in addition to foreign investors purchased at LE 35.8 million, LE 1.3 million and LE 55.5 million respectively.

Shares of 52 companies recorded increases and 112 companies marked declines, while shares of 22 firms remained unchanged.
