CAIRO – 31 October 2017: Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade Tarek Kabil launched in a Tuesday conference the industrial investment map, which includes details about available opportunities in the industrial sector.

“This map aims to reduce imports eventually, and it will be regularly updated with the latest developments in the sector,” Kabil said during the conference.

Kabil added that the map comes in line with the 2020 industrial development strategy, which targets increasing the contribution of the sector in the gross domestic product (GDP) from 17 percent to 21 percent.

“Egypt aspires to be the 15th largest country in the industrial production worldwide,” Kabil said; adding that the government wants to increase the involvement of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the GDP.
