CAIRO – 30 October 2017: Trade Minister Tarek Kabil met on Monday with director general of investment operations of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Yee Ean Pang to discuss the bank’s projects currently being established in Egypt as well as a number of funding projects and programs planned to be held in Egypt in the coming period.

The meeting was also attended by head of the General Authority for Industrial Development Ahmed Abdel Razek.

During the meeting, they discussed the probability of signing a deal between the bank and the authority to fund programs aiming at establishing infrastructure projects in Egypt's industrial zones.

They also discussed the bank’s project in Egypt aiming at generating electricity from renewable energy at a cost of USD 210 million in which 11 solar energy plants will be established to produce 490 megawatts.

Meanwhile, Yee said the bank is seeking to establish more investment projects in Egypt, stressing that the Egyptian market is considered one of the most promising markets in the Middle East.
