CAIRO – 24 October 2017: Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Ali Al Moseilhy discussed on Tuesday with Romanian Ambassador to Egypt Mihai Ștefan Stuparu economic cooperation between Egypt and Romania.

In statements, the ambassador expressed his country's desire to increase the volume of wheat exports to Egypt and expand trade exchange and cooperation in the small and medium enterprises.

Minister Moselhy said that Egypt requests buying wheat through international tenders in line with world competitiveness and according to world bourses prices.

He added the government adopts the policy of varying the sources of importing wheat and other crops.

The minister pointed out that Romania is considered an important exporter of wheat to Egypt as it exported more than 2 million tons in fiscal year 2016/2017 while the imports of wheat from Romania amounted to 600,000 tons in the first three months of fiscal year 2017/2018.
