EGX closes Sunday trading in green on foreign and Arab purchases

CAIRO – 1 October 2017: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s session in the green, backed by foreign and Arab purchases.

The benchmark index EGX30 increased 0.64 percent to close at 13,976 points.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 rose 0.92 percent to end at 780.65 points.

The broader index EGX100 also leveled up 1.04 percent to close at 1,721 points.

Market capitalization grew LE 7.7 billion ($549 million) to LE 756.295 billion, compared to LE 748.59 billion in Thursday transactions.

Arab and foreign investors were net sellers at LE 7.7 million and LE 1.1 million respectively, while local investors tend to sell at LE 8.8 million.
