Cairo refinery processes 4.6M tons of crude in FY 2016/17

CAIRO – 17 September 2017: Cairo Oil Refining Company refined a total volume of 4.6 million tons of crude oil in fiscal year 2016/17, company head Mohamed Hashish said in a Sunday statement.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Petroleum, Hashish said that the company’s Mostorod refinery has contributed in covering a large amount of the domestic market needs of petroleum products.

Cairo refinery has produced 69,000 tons of butane gas, 3.9 million tons of gasoline at 80-octane and 92-octane, 2.2 million tons of fuel oil, 874,000 tons of diesel and 266,000 tons of jet fuel, Hashish added.

Investing around LE 151 million ($85.6 million), the company has also contributed in manufacturing refining towers and equipment throughout the previous fiscal year
