Alexandria Petroleum’s output marked LE 34B last fiscal year

CAIRO – 12 September 2017: State-owned Alexandria Petroleum Company produced a worth of LE 33.9 billion of petroleum products in FY 2016/17, company chairman Medhat Bahgat announced Tuesday.

The company produced 85,000 tons of butane gas, one million tons of naphtha, 383,000 tons of jet fuel, 1.3 million tons of diesel and 1.8 million tons of fuel oil, Bahgat said, according to a statement from the Ministry of Petroleum.

Bahgat made the statements during a meeting with Minister of Petroleum Tarek El-Molla, attended by head of the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) Abed Ezz El-Regal.

In the same fiscal year, Alexandria Petroleum refined 4.5 million tons of high-quality petroleum products to meet domestic needs of diesel, butane gas, naphtha and asphalt
Molla called on the company to study establishing new production units to increase capacity and efficiency of output.

Founded in 1954, Alexandria Petroleumm is a petroleum refinery company that works in producing and exporting petroleum products in Egypt.
