Rockhopper Exploration says Egypt’s operations stable

CAIRO – 15 August 2017: UK-based oil & gas company Rockhopper Exploration Plc said production from Egyptian operations remained stable at the first half (1H) of 2017, the company said Tuesday.

Production from the six fields in the Abu Sennan concession, located at the Abu Gharadig basin in the Western Desert, averaged at 3,300 gross barrels of oil equivalent per day at the end of June, Alliance News reported.

"We are pleased with the overall progress in Egypt and, in particular, with the continuing reduction in our receivables balance,” said Sam Moody, Rockhopper chief executive.
Rockhopper also gave updates on al-Jahraa SE-2X well, which it started drilling in April, stating that oil being confirmed from both the Abu Roash C and E reservoirs. Production were put at 250 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

In August 2016, RockHopper Exploration purchased Beach Petroleum Egypt for $11.9 million.

Beach Petroleum held a 22 percent interest in the Abu Sennan concession and 25 percent interest in the al-Qaa Plain concession on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Suez.
