CAIRO – 10 August 2017: Prime Minister Sherif Ismail appointed Mona Zobaa’ as the executive director of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), Minister of Investment Sahar Nasr announced Thursday.

The decision also included appointing Mohamed Abdel Wahab as the deputy director of the authority, as per the recommendation of the investment minister.

Nasr called on Zobaa and Abdel Wahab to complete the developments of the investment service center, facilitate the procedures for investors and companies’ representatives and accelerate the implementation of free zones’ developing plan.

In May, Zobaa’ was announced to replace GAFI’s former CEO Mohamed Khodeir.
The new executive director was appointed as GAFI's deputy head in February 2015 after serving as head of the investment policies department at the Ministry of Investment, according to GAFI website.
