Sisi approves joint venture with DP World for Suez Canal projects

CAIRO – 9 August 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi approved establishing joint venture with UAE’s DP World, according to an official statement.

The company will be formed in partnership with the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SC Zone), and will be specialized in launching projects in the Suez Canal area.

Last week, Dubai Ports-Sokhna (DP World) launched a corporate sustainability program for 11 projects in Suez and Ain Sokhna.

The project, which will focus on the sectors of health, education, water and social welfare, will serve a total number of 7,500 citizens, CEO of DP World-Sokhna Ajay Singh said in a statement.

The initiative will include upgrading schools, establishing water infrastructure, distributing food items for families and securing job opportunities for beneficiaries.
