Egypt Post to replace savings books with ATMs

CAIRO - 3 August 2017: Egypt Post decided to supersede postal savings books with ATMs in Cairo and Giza post offices as a first stage as of August in course.

The measure will later on expand to cover all governorates nationwide.

In a statement on Thursday, Egypt Post Board Chairman Essam el Saghir said the measure is meant to ditch paper-based system and replace it with ATMs.

About 24 million clients have postal savings books at an estimated 196 billion EGP accounts.
