Egypt raises export support allocations by 55% to LE 48B

CAIRO – 22 July 2026: Egypt has increased funding for export rebates and exporter support to LE 48 billion in the current fiscal year, up from LE 28 billion in fiscal year 2025/2026, marking annual growth of 55 percent, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk said.

Kouchouk said the government is making substantial annual increases in export support allocations to help Egyptian companies enter new markets and strengthen the global competitiveness of their products.

He added that export growth remains a central priority across government policies, programmes and initiatives developed in cooperation with the private sector.

According to Kouchouk, rising exports demonstrate the private sector’s capacity to expand production, compete internationally and generate employment. The government will continue working to build a more competitive economy supported by diversified and sustainable goods and services exports.

The Finance Ministry is also accelerating the settlement of outstanding exporter dues to provide companies with the liquidity needed to expand their operations.

Kouchouk said the government had disbursed LE 12.6 billion as part of a 50 percent cash settlement programme benefiting around 2,500 exporting companies within one fiscal year.

The first and second instalments were both paid during fiscal year 2025/2026 rather than being distributed across two fiscal years, reflecting the priority given to export promotion within the government’s fiscal policies.

The original plan involved settling 50 percent of exporters’ overdue receivables from the Export Development Fund in cash over four consecutive fiscal years, beginning in 2025/2026. However, the government accelerated the process and paid two instalments during the same year.

Kouchouk added that exporters had received LE 70 billion over the past six years, while the government aims to settle all remaining arrears within two years.

Nevine Mansour, adviser to the finance minister for economic institutional relations, said the first instalment included LE 5.3 billion paid to 2,447 exporting companies during August and September of fiscal year 2025/2026.

A further LE 7.3 billion was disbursed to 2,328 companies in the second instalment by the end of the fiscal year, bringing total payments to LE 12.6 billion for approximately 2,500 exporters.
