CAIRO - 21 July 2026: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Alexandria Port Authority and the Montenegro Ports Authority during the official visit of Montenegro’s President Jakov Milatović to Egypt.
The agreement, signed by Alexandria Port Authority Chairman Vice Admiral Ehab Salah and Montenegro Ports Authority Chairman Stanko Dretic, seeks to deepen bilateral cooperation in maritime transport and logistics.
Under the MoU, the two authorities will work together in port management and operations, digital transformation, knowledge exchange, capacity building and environmental sustainability.
The agreement also includes plans to explore new maritime connections between Egyptian and Montenegrin ports, helping strengthen supply chains and support trade and investment flows.
Officials said the strategic locations of Egypt on the Mediterranean and Montenegro on the Adriatic could create a strong maritime and logistics corridor linking European markets with the Middle East and North Africa.
The agreement comes as Egypt continues to expand and modernize its port infrastructure, operational facilities and logistics services as part of efforts to position the country as a regional hub for transport, logistics and transit trade.
The partnership also supports the Alexandria Port Authority’s efforts to expand cooperation with international ports and maritime institutions, facilitate technology transfer and improve the efficiency and global competitiveness of Egyptian ports.
