CAIRO – 1 July 2026:  The General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) has signed an agreement with Agility Public Warehousing and Advanced Logistics to develop and operate an investment logistics zone, alongside regional distribution and redistribution centres within the economic zone.

The project is expected to attract investments of between $30 million and $35 million and will cover approximately 53,000 square metres, according to SCZone Chairman Walid Gamal El-Din.

The planned facilities will support the zone’s logistics ecosystem through storage, consolidation, re-export, and redistribution services. The project is also expected to improve trade efficiency and strengthen connections between industrial operations and regional and international supply chains.

Gamal El-Din said the agreement reflects growing investor confidence in the SCZone as a global logistics and investment destination. He added that advanced logistics centres play a key role in supporting trade, industrial activity, and value-added services, while reinforcing the zone’s position within global supply chains linking Asia, Africa, and Europe.

The agreement builds on Agility’s existing presence in Sokhna. In February 2025, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated the first phase of the company’s customs centre in the Sokhna Industrial Zone. The 21,000-square-metre facility was developed with investments of around $25 million and includes integrated operational services aimed at improving customs clearance and logistics efficiency within the SCZone.
