CAIRO – 17 June 2026: Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company has signed a strategic partnership agreement with China’s FAW Group to produce a range of vehicles under the “Nasr” brand, according to a statement issued on Wednesday.

Mohamed El-Saadawy, Chairman and Executive Managing Director of the Holding Company for Metallurgical Industries, said the agreement comes after an extended period of discussions and coordination between the two sides.

He added that the partnership reflects mutual trust and a shared vision for long-term cooperation, with a focus on transferring advanced technology, increasing the use of local components, and supporting Egypt’s plans to revive its national automotive industry.

El-Saadawy noted that the agreement is also expected to strengthen the competitiveness of Egyptian-made vehicles in both local and regional markets.

Nabil Mohamed Hammad, Executive Managing Director of Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company, said the partnership will support the company’s efforts to launch high-quality vehicles under the “Nasr” name, in line with international standards.

He added that the agreement will help meet demand in the Egyptian market while creating new opportunities for exports to regional and global markets.

Hammad described the partnership as a strong example of cooperation between national companies and major international industrial institutions, saying it supports Egypt’s industrial development goals and reinforces the country’s position as a regional automotive manufacturing hub.

Nasr Automotive, a subsidiary of the Holding Company for Metallurgical Industries, has re-emerged in recent years as one of Egypt’s historic industrial players. The company recorded around LE 120 million in profits and LE 1.2 billion in revenues last year, and currently manufactures three passenger car brands in addition to several bus models.
