Egypt signs 3 healthcare MoUs to boost African pharmaceutical integration

CAIRO – 15 June 2026: The Egyptian government has signed three strategic memoranda of understanding to expand regional and international cooperation and support African integration in pharmaceutical and healthcare systems.

The first MoU was signed between the Egyptian Drug Authority and Algeria’s National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products, with the aim of enhancing cooperation in pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.

The second agreement focuses on Egypt hosting the operational headquarters of the African Pooled Procurement Mechanism. It was signed between the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and the Management of Medical Technology, and the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, Africa CDC.

The third MoU covers Egypt’s participation in the African Pooled Procurement Mechanism. It was also signed between the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and the Management of Medical Technology, and Africa CDC.

The agreements reflect Egypt’s efforts to strengthen African healthcare cooperation, support joint procurement mechanisms, and advance access to pharmaceutical and medical products across the continent.
