CAIRO - 6 May 2026: Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has signed an agreement to repair and rehabilitate gas pipelines in Lebanon through the Egyptian petroleum sector, represented by the Technical Gas Services Company (TGS).

Karim Badawi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, said the agreement highlights the capability of Egyptian petroleum companies to deliver specialized energy infrastructure projects abroad, backed by extensive expertise in the operation and maintenance of natural gas networks in line with international standards.

He added that the deal reinforces the growing regional role of Egypt’s petroleum sector in supporting gas infrastructure development across the region.

As part of the agreement, TGS will carry out the rehabilitation of around 30 kilometers of 24-inch gas pipelines, alongside upgrades to pressure reduction and metering stations and their associated power facilities.

The project will also include mechanical installation works, upgrades to programmable logic controller (PLC) systems and SCADA systems, cathodic protection works, as well as the required technical and operational testing to ensure the safe and efficient restart of the pipelines and stations.
