Deposits surge LE 800B in 1 yr, register LE 2.8T in March

CAIRO – 30 July 2017: The deposits volume hiked LE 800 billion ($44.7 billion) in one year, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) said Sunday.

In its July’s bulletin, CAPMAS stated that deposits recorded LE 2.8 trillion in March 2017 compared to LE 2 trillion in the same period in 2016.

Non-government deposits also registered an increase in March posting LE 2.3 trillion, up from LE 1.6 trillion in the same month of the previous year.

Moreover, government deposits reached LE 493.2 billion in March 2017, compared to LE 314.7 billion in March 2016, the report said.
