CAIRO - 28 April 2026: The Cabinet media center highlighted incentives provided to establish a robust manufacturing base for the automotive industry and its feeding sectors in a Tuesday statement.

The National Automotive Industry Development Program reflects state efforts to localize vehicle manufacturing and attract global companies.

The strategy emphasizes electric vehicles (EVs) as part of a national shift toward clean energy and reducing traditional fuel dependency.

According to the statement, the program offers an additional incentive of LE 5,000 for every 1% increase in local components exceeding the 35% threshold per car.

New assembly plants in priority zones can receive a 100% land price refund if production exceeds 100,000 traditional fuel vehicles or 10,000 EVs.

Existing plants can claim a 50% land refund upon hitting the same production targets.

The program further supports investment and exports by studying the inclusion of the automotive sector in the export burden rebate program.

It also utilizes Investment Law incentives and launches an initiative to replace aging vehicles with electric taxis and private cars.
