CAIRO - 22 April 2026: Egypt’s Cabinet has approved a series of measures aimed at strengthening infrastructure, public services, and digital transformation, including plans to establish a new company affiliated with the Suez Canal Authority.

The government authorized the authority to proceed with setting up a joint-stock company, “Suez Canal Dredging and Maritime Works Company,” in partnership with a private sector firm. The company will focus on executing dredging and maritime projects, alongside related supply operations, as part of efforts to enhance the canal’s service capabilities.

In the healthcare sector, the Cabinet approved a contract between the Ministry of Health and Population and Stones, the local agent of Emers, to provide maintenance and technical support for the national ambulance reporting system. The system is set to be expanded across operations rooms nationwide to improve emergency response efficiency.

The government also delegated the Minister of Communications and Information Technology to sign agreements with a number of global ICT companies, aiming to accelerate digital transformation and improve access to government services.

These decisions come within the broader framework of improving service delivery, advancing digital governance, and supporting the state’s strategy to build an integrated digital economy in line with Egypt Vision 2030.
