CAIRO - 22 April 2026: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has instructed the Ministry of Housing to appoint a consulting office to prepare an integrated development plan for the coastal zone in North Sinai, aimed at drawing tourism investments in addition to agricultural, industrial, and other development activities.
During Wednesday’s government meeting, Madbouly underscored the strategic value of North Sinai within Egypt’s national development agenda, stressing that the governorate offers substantial and untapped investment potential, particularly in the tourism sector.
In parallel, the Prime Minister reviewed the main points of the government statement he presented to Parliament on Tuesday, describing it as a candid assessment of the ongoing regional crisis, its international and domestic implications, and the urgent actions taken to mitigate its effects.
He also outlined the government’s response scenarios and the measures implemented in light of the complex regional and global environment, emphasizing that even if the crisis eases, its economic impact is expected to linger, with repercussions likely to extend through the end of the current year.
