CAIRO - 21 April 2026: The SCZONE has announced a major new project by "Indorama Egypt for Fertilizers" in the Sokhna Industrial Zone.

The integrated industrial complex represents a total investment of $525 million, furthering the nation's industrial localization goals.

In a Tuesday report, the Cabinet Media Center detailed that the project will span 522,000 square meters, with an initial production capacity of 600,000 tons annually.

The facility will produce phosphate fertilizers and essential chemicals including ammonia, sulfur, potash, and urea.

The project is strategically designed to reduce import reliance and boost national exports, with approximately 80% of its production slated for international markets.

By localizing chemical industries based on mineral ores, the complex aims to deepen domestic manufacturing and provide high-value added products for the agricultural supply chain.
