CAIRO - 19 April 2026: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said the government is stepping up efforts to roll out the second phase of the national plan aimed at delivering comprehensive development in Sinai.
He noted that the initiative encompasses a diverse portfolio of projects across key sectors, including agriculture, industry, mining, and urban expansion, alongside continued investments in infrastructure such as road networks, bridges, and tunnels. The plan also prioritizes tourism development projects throughout the governorate.
Madbouly made the remarks during a tour that began on Sunday to review the progress of several development and public service projects in North Sinai.
He explained that the visit is intended to closely follow up on project implementation and ensure faster delivery of essential services, including healthcare facilities, drinking water systems, and seawater desalination plants.
The development agenda also includes industrial projects and major strategic upgrades, most notably the modernization of El Arish Airport and the enhancement of the city’s seaport infrastructure.
The prime minister added that these initiatives are part of a broader strategic framework designed to achieve integrated and sustainable growth in North Sinai, within the scope of the national project for developing the governorate launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
He emphasized that North Sinai holds significant potential as an emerging investment destination, stressing that the government aims to position the region as a key center for urban, industrial, commercial, agricultural, and tourism activities in Egypt.
Madbouly reaffirmed the state’s commitment to offering strong incentives to attract investors and support local communities, highlighting that long-term development in Sinai depends on the active participation of North Sinai residents, in line with the president’s directives.
