CAIRO – 16 April 2026: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has issued a decision to form a ministerial economic group and a ministerial group for entrepreneurship.
The ministerial economic group will be chaired by the prime minister and include the deputy prime minister for economic affairs, the governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, and several ministers including the minister of finance, acting as rapporteur and official spokesperson.
Other members include the minister of supply and internal trade, the minister of foreign affairs, the minister of investment and foreign trade, the minister of planning and economic development, the minister of industry, and the chairperson of the financial regulatory authority.
The group will meet weekly and whenever necessary. It may invite other officials to attend its meetings and seek assistance from experts as required.
In a separate decision, Madbouly also formed a ministerial group for entrepreneurship, chaired by the deputy prime minister for economic affairs.
Its membership includes the ministers of finance, supply and internal trade, foreign affairs, communications and information technology, higher education and scientific research, investment and foreign trade, planning and economic development, and industry.
Other members also include the chairperson of the financial regulatory authority, the deputy governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, and the CEO of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency.
The entrepreneurship group may also invite ministers, heads of authorities, and experts to its meetings as needed. It will be attended by relevant advisers to the prime minister.
It will meet at least once every two weeks, or whenever required at the invitation of its chair. In cases where the prime minister attends, he will chair the group.
