CAIRO - 7 April 2026: Egypt is maintaining a steady flow of crude oil supplies as contracts for shipments proceed according to carefully planned schedules, Minister of Petroleum Karim Badawi confirmed in a government statement .
Speaking at a Cabinet meeting of the Central Crisis Management Committee, chaired by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Badawi said government measures to rationalize petroleum consumption have reduced the financial allocations needed for crude procurement. Coordinated efforts with state bodies have also stabilized diesel consumption across the country.
Badawi added that additional savings were achieved by postponing several national projects for three months, allowing public spending to be directed toward urgent priorities.
Meanwhile, Minister of Electricity Mahmoud Essmat stressed that all current measures aim to secure electricity supply and ensure uninterrupted access for all users.
The ministry has focused on adjusting operational patterns, reducing reliance on conventional fuels, and improving energy efficiency and performance across the sector.
