CAIRO - 6 April 2026: Egypt’s Customs Authority and the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA) have announced the launch of a new installment payment service for fees due on mobile phones imported from abroad, offering users greater flexibility in settling required charges.

The service is being introduced through the consumer finance company Valu, making it the first provider to enable installment-based payments for this category of fees.

According to a statement issued by the NTRA, the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to facilitate compliance with regulations governing imported mobile devices and to simplify procedures for users while maintaining the integrity of the regulatory framework.

Officials said the new payment option aims to improve the user experience by offering more convenient and flexible settlement methods, helping citizens regularize the status of their devices more easily.

The authorities confirmed that existing payment channels remain available, including the “Telephony” application, bank transfers, and digital wallets, in addition to the newly introduced installment option through Valu, which is expected to broaden payment choices and support smoother compliance with the system.
