CAIRO - 1 April 2026: President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and his government discussed on Wednesday drafting a national economic development program for the post International Monetary Fund (IMF) agreement.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the ministers of finance and planning reviewed the state’s vision with Sisi to ensure the competitiveness and sustainability of the Egyptian economy, Presidency Spokesperson Mohamed El-Shennawy said.

Sisi emphasized continuing fiscal reforms to guarantee economic stability and stimulate private sector growth.

The discussions highlighted balanced fiscal policies to maintain momentum in manufacturing, production, and exports, in line with "Egypt Vision 2030."

The officials also reviewed the acceleration of the Universal Health Insurance System and the "Decent Life" (Haya Karima) rural development initiative, noting that both remain top priorities for the state’s investment plan.
