CAIRO – 10 March 2026: Egypt’s Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has announced new increases in the prices of gasoline and diesel, raising them by LE 3 per liter, with the changes taking effect at 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
According to the ministry, the updated prices are as follows:
Gasoline 95: from LE 21 to LE 24 per liter
Gasoline 92: from LE 19.25 to LE 22.25 per liter
Gasoline 80: from LE 17.75 to LE 20.75 per liter
Diesel: from LE 17.5 to LE 20.5 per liter
Prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders were also adjusted, with the 12.5 kg cylinder rising from LE 225 to LE 275, while the 25 kg cylinder increased from LE 450 to LE 550.
In addition, the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) used to fuel vehicles increased from LE 10 to LE 13 per cubic meter.
The ministry said the decision comes amid exceptional developments in global energy markets, driven by ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. These developments have pushed up the cost of imports and local production due to disruptions in supply chains, higher shipping and insurance costs, and a surge in global crude oil and petroleum product prices.
The government said it will continue efforts to boost domestic oil and gas production and accelerate exploration activities, while encouraging investment partners to expand operations to help reduce Egypt’s import bill. Authorities also stressed that they are closely monitoring market developments to ensure the continued availability of petroleum products and gas while maintaining energy security and market stability.
